Our website is being updated to reflect some recent changes when you apply to buy or sell a home and changes to our regulatory requirements, plus some additional features to assist you in your journey of being a leaseholder with Plymouth Community Homes.
1. Applying for a property advertised
We have made our process easier for you. You can apply for a home when they are advertised by selecting the apply button on the property advertised. We will keep a record of applicants applying for a home and contact the first eligible person to discuss initial criteria before proceeding.
All applicants that apply, will be informed of their position for applying for the property and will also contacted should an applicant be accepted so you can apply for another property.
2. Affordability assessment
We have appointed an independent mortgage broker to conduct all affordability and sustainability assessments on behalf of Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) and in accordance with Homes England Criteria.
When an applicant applies for a home and is initially qualified by the PCH sales team, we will ask you to register with the mortgage broker to complete the affordability process. They will confirm with us whether you can purchase the property based on your affordability and sustainability assessment.
3. Customer journey
We will be providing a customer journey step by step guide on what happens for all shared ownership purchases/sales. There will be a process for each stage with an estimated timeline.
We will be updating our guides to reflect the new processes we have put in place.
We will publish the fees associated with buying a shared ownership home, selling your shared ownership home and staircasing (buying more shares).
6. Website accessibility
We will be implementing some changes to assist you accessing the website and our documents, using supporting tools to enable customers to read aloud our information in different formats.
Please send us an enquiry if you have any queries or need any more information.
